Wow, it has been far too long since my last post. Well, with my new part time job I've been kept pretty busy these last few weeks/months. But now I'm organizing my time so I can really get some work done. This is what I have been working on the last little while, these are thumbs for a personal trainer's logo. His last name is Doggette, thus the buff dogs. I had fun working with these and learned some valuable lessons about designs. Isaac Orlaff said that things always look more designed when you use reference than without it, I definitely found that to be true with these. My non-reference sketches were very organic but lacked design and shape play, having the reference allowed me to make the design decision. A valuable lesson learned

"Mr. Badger" 8.5 x 13 Digital.
I included the second image as a self reminder to how important it is to do color studies. The second image was where I was originally going with the image, after not liking it I went in the direction of the first image. If i had done a color study I would have avoided that step. Live and learn

A work in process for a personal project. It is a hypothetical film I will be developing over the next two semesters for my portfolio and this is the first concept illustration. On another note, the final for the chicken piece is coming, I had some back and forth as to how i was going to finish it, but it is resolved.
